Fight Club - July 31, 2010

directv promotions near Portland offer plenty of options for the avid action movie afficianado, but one film specifically makes me particularly giddy: Fight Club.

Based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club follows a protagonist who feels unfilled in life. He is tired of constantly working and buying Ikea furniture to fill a void which he doesn’t truly understand. How does he get out of this rut? By forming a fight club.

The movie then bursts into action set-pieces where men of a similiar nature meet and fight each other. Things get heavier, though. Philosophically, the fight clubs take on domestic terrorism, and by the end of the film, one of the countries most dependable sources of money explodes. I won’t spil it for you, but the ending is very satisfying.

Of course, philosophy aside, this is a real-man’s action flick. There is plenty of violence and on-screen thrills to gossip about when the film excitingly concludes. I would advise viewers to watch the film for a second time in case they miss certain elements of the film.
